Voting, Competitions and Reverse Auctions.
Textvertising provide SMS competition
systems including "Text Voting" and "Reverse
Auctions". These can be run using either
standard messaging free to the customer or
premium rate at 25p-£10.
What is Text Voting?
Text Voting has been around for many years and
has only become a "household product" since the
launch of programmes like the X Factor, Who
Wants To Be A Millionaire and Popstars a few
years ago.
The
idea of text voting is that the public can for
example vote for their favourite singer or
perhaps choose the correct answer to a question.
Try our example, its
fun and free and you can WIN A PRIZE!

last competitionwas won by Mitch Griffiths from

Uses of Text Voting.
Recently and becoming ever popular, is the use
of text voting in large bars and nightclubs. We
have seen many scenarios but "Battle of the
Bands", "Miss Wet T Shirt" and "Karaoke Finals"
are by far the most popular. Many venues simply
want to generate a revenue toward paying for
events whilst capturing a database of mobile
numbers for future text marketing, others just
wish to provide a fair customer interaction
rather than having individual biased judges.
Text voting has many modern applications. Where
you think it could be used is down to your
imagination.
How does it work?
Once we configure your account, you can start a
service online.
Demo Screenshot (click to enlarge):

-
set a start time and an end time and the
system starts your service automatically.
-
Choose to send "service has not started" or
"service has ended" text messages
automatically if votes/entries are received
outside of time.
-
Create a dynamic link and make your
votes/entry results publicly available to
users or forums on an ongoing basis.
-
Configure how many votes/entries each person
can make.
-
Use reverse billing between 25p and £10 per
vote/entry.
-
View all results online after closing.
-
The system can choose a winner for you, or
simply download the results.
-
Request the top 3 results to your mobile
remotely along with a pre-selected random
winners phone number. (If required you can
choose to stop the service when you request
the results or simply view ongoing results).
Reverse Auctions. More recently "Reverse Auctions" have become
ever popular with radio stations as a new fun
and interactive way of giving away prizes with a
twist.
The idea of reverse auctions is that rather than
putting in a highest bid as with a normal
auction, you have to put in the lowest bid. That
bid also must be unique. At the end of the
competition, the winner (with the lowest unique
bid) either wins the prize, or pays the amount
they bid.
