Mobile Billing - get started with Premium Rate SMS

Textvertising offer a Mobile Billing platform to allow you to generate revenue using SMS.

Mobile Billing allows you to charge a premium for an SMS received by an end user from our platform. These will always originate from a 5 digit shortcode number such as 82055 or 81888 for example.

In order to send an end user a "premium rate SMS" they must first opt in by interacting with your premium service.

Operators of premium rate services who wish to offer Mobile Billing must adhere to a strict code of conduct and are regulated by a regulatory body called PhonePayPlus.

What services do we offer?

We offer a number of services which can use our Mobile Billing platform such as:

What amount can end users be charged?

The amounts vary per provider. Textvertising offer 25p, 50p, £1.00, £1.50 and £2.50

How much do you receive from each text?

The amount you receive varies per network as each network pays differently and the VAT amount varies depending on the rate.

If you would like a copy of our comprehensive outpayment table which shows how much you can receive from each transaction, feel free to contact us and we will email one back to you.

The regulations for premium rate services from The Phone Paid Services Authority changed significantly from January 2017. The mobile networks have also introduced multiple new independant regulations as to how services can be operated on each of their networks.

Therefore from September 1st 2018 we will no longer be offering premium rate services.
